Section 1: 60s/70s Bargain Bin

Allen> Jerry Allen - Re-Organises - LP - Morgan Records MR102P - UK/Belgium - 1968 - white label promo M-/M- - €10 Disc made in Belgium, probably promo only; sleeve is UK. Ashra - Belle Alliance - LP - Virgin 202 284 - Holland - 1980 - EX/EX - €9 Manuel Gottsching's post Ash Ra Tempel project; this is the fourth album, and the second (after "Correlations") to feature second guitarist Lutz Ulbrich & drummer Harald Grosskopf. Baker> George Baker Selection - Greatest Hits - LP - Negram - ELS 939 - NL - 1972 - EX/EX - €10 Covers 1969-72, pre-dating the mid-70s descent into schmaltz. Collects singles and album tracks incl "Little Green Bag" and "Ann". Battiato> Franco Battiato - L'Arca Di Noe - LP - EMI 1c-064-18597 - Germany - 1982 - w/booklet EX/EX - €10 After the experimentalism of the 70s, this is shorter, song-based electronica. Be-Bop Deluxe - Sunburst Finish - LP - Harvest SHSP 4053 - UK - 1976 - taped inner, rw EX/EX - €10 Be-Bop Deluxe - The Best Of And The Rest Of - 2xLP - Harvest - USA - 1978 co - EX/EX - €8 Bethnal - Crash Landing - LP - Vertigo 9102 029 - France - 1978 - promo stamp, inner tss EX/M- - €10 Interesing late 70s proggish rock colliding with new wave... everything I've read about them suggests Bethnal never captured their live appeal on record. Their two albums are definitely interesting even if they fail to really inspire. The best thing about this one is the bizarre Hipgnosis cover. This is a very nice French promo copy which looks unplayed and would be totally mint if not for the tss. Big John's Rock'N'Roll Circus - s/t - LP - DJM Records DJLPS 438 - UK - 1974 - EX/EX - €10 UK glam rock Bojoura - The Beauty of Bojoura - LP - CBS S 64199 - NL - 1970 - EX/EX - €10 Bown> Andy Bown - Gone To My Head - LP - Mercury Records SRM-1-625 - USA - 1972 - foc coh ew bss EX(-)/EX - €10 Looks better that the description implies. Great cover artwork . . . alas that's the only good thing I can say about this LP! The music does nothing for me whatsoever. Ex member of The Herd and Judas Jump (another LP I didn't think much of!) Browne> Duncan Browne - Send Me The Bill For Your Friendship / My Only One - 7" - RAK/Pathe - 2c-006-94905 - France - 1973 - M-/M- - €7,50 Under-rated songwriter and guitarist Browne> Duncan Browne - The Wild Places - LP - Logo Records 5c-062-62361 - Holland - 1978 - insert stoc EX/EX - €10 Browne's first solo LP after splitting from Metro, whose first LP is easily their best, largely thanks to Duncan Browne's involvement. Browne> Duncan Browne - Streets of Fire - LP - Logo Records - 1A-062-63217 - NL - 1979 - EX-/EX - €7,50 Browne> Duncan Browne - Compilation - LP - Logo Records - 64.028 - Germany - 1979 - EX/EX - €7,50 Cadd> Brian Cadd - s/t - LP - Chelsea - BCL1-0163 - USA - 1972/1973 - inner co, EX/EX - €9.99 Cado Belle - s/t - LP - Anchor ANCL 2015 - UK - 1976 - EX/EX - inner - €9.99 Chronicle - Two Sides of Chronicle - LP - private - SRTX 78 CUS 251 - UK - 1978 - EX/EX - €10 English electric folk, private pressing. Seems to be common, so I've priced this cheap. Nice copy. Clark> Dave Clark Five - Best of the Dave Clark Five - LP - Starline SRS 5037 - UK - 1963-68/1970 - EX/EX - €7,50 A greatly under-rated band (even if they did rip off Ron Ryan -- allegedly). Cocker> Joe Cocker - Joe Cocker! [1968] / With A Little Help From My Friends [1969] - 2xLP - Cube 2635 002 (2338 003/4) - Germany - 1972 - foc EX/EX - €10 Cockney Rebel - The Human Menagerie - LP - EMI - EMA 759 - NL - 1973 - foc EX/EX - €5 De Burgh> Chris De Burgh - Far Beyond These Castle Walls... - LP - A&M Records - AMNP112 - NL - 197? - inner - M-/M- - €10 Undated dutch issue (through CBS) of the 1975 debut LP. Deep Purple - The Mark 2 Purple Singles - LP - Harvest 1c-064-61695 - Germany - 1977? - EX/EX - €10 Derek & Clive - Ad Nauseam - LP - Virgin V2112 - UK - 1978 - w/stickered printed PVC outer cover M-/M- - SOLD(€9) Dietrich> Marlene Dietrich - Lili Marlene - LP - MCA Coral COPS 1259 - 1973 - EX/EX - €5 Including such foot stomping, head bangin' classics as Lili Marlene Symphonie, I've Been In Love Before, You Do Something To Me, Illusions, You've Got That Look, You Go To My Head, Black Market, Falling In Love Again, The Boys In The Backroom. Donovan - Open Road - LP - Epic Records - BN 26278 - NL - 1970 - EX/EX - €10 Released on Dawn in the UK but on Epic everywhere else, this dutch press is much cheaper than a Dawn copy! "Open Road" is my favourite Donovan album though all pressings I've had seem to struggle with the range of the music, especially on "Celtic Rock". Highly recommended. Donovan - Open Road - LP - Epic - BN 26278 - Germany - 1970 - foc sss rw soc - EX-/EX- - €9 Edmunds> Dave Edmunds - Repeat When Necessary - LP - Swan Song - SSK 59409 - UK - 1979 - inner, tear on one label - EX/EX - €10 Nice clean copy. Ekseption - s/t (1st) - LP - Philips - UBY 873003 - NL - 1969 - flipback PS, slight spotting on bc - EX/EX - €10 First and best album (though 2 is worth picking up aswell). A very common LP in Holland but usually well worn. This copy is nice. Elly & Rikkert - Levend Water - LP - EMI 5c-064-25455 - Holland - 1976 - EX/EX - €10 Elly & Rikkert - Al Je Haren Zijn Geteld - LP - EMI 4c-064-25703 - Belgium - 1977 - foc EX/EX - €10 Elly & Rikkert - De Late Regen - LP - Bovema Negram 1a-062-26066 - Holland - 1978 - foc tobc EX/EX - €10 ELP (Emerson Lake and Palmer) - Live In Concert - DVD - Falcon FNM 0285 - Germany - 1970-77/200? - M/M - €10 Falcon seem to be putting out bootleg DVDs alongside their legit CDs. Not sure how they're getting away with it! This has one track from the Isle of Wight 1970 ("Blue Rondo a la Turk") plus two 50+ minute films: "The Works Live" at Montreal Olympic Stadium 1977 and the Manticore Special promo film from 1973, which includes some laughable staged rehearsal banter. Repulsive yet compelling! Note this is a bootleg (or certainly "twilight") so its mastered from film or video with no cleanups, 4:3 full frame, region free, mono, Faith> Percy Faith - Clair - LP - CBS Records 65468 - NL - 1973 - orange label EX/EX - €10 Firesign Theatre - Not Insane Or Anything You Want To - LP - Columbia - KC 31585 - USA - 1972 - rw/ew/rubbing/taped seam/woc - VG+/EX- - €7 Fisher> Danny Fisher - Around The World - LP - Papagayo - PAPL-3610 - NL - 1981 - 2x soc - EX/EX - €9.99 Flavium - Fleviem - LP - Ivory Tower - ELF 25.36 - NL - 1978 - corner crease - EX/EX - €10 Third album, fantastic bluesrock band but boy did they keep making the same album. Great solos throughout. The dutch Savoy Brown (or perhaps that should be Foghat). FM (NL) - Take Care - LP - Ariola - 26.324 XOT - NL - 1978 - EX/EX - €10 Foundations - s/t - LP - Marble Arch - MALS 1157 - UK - 1968-69/1969 - EX/EX - €9,99 Friel> Brian Friel - s/t - LP - Pye - 12012 - USA - 1972 - inner cc - VG+/EX- - €9 Fox - s/t - LP - GTO Records GTLP001 (2312 101) - UK - 1975 - ew - €9,99 Essentially the same band as Yellow Dog with Kenny Young and Herbie Armstrong (ex Wheels, Demick & Armstrong, Van Morrison). 5th Dimension - The Fantastic 5th Dimension - LP - Liberty/Stern Musik LBS 83228 1 - Germany - 1969 - foc +poster EX/EX - €10 In remarkable condition; black label with Liberty rainbow logo to left. Comes with a promo poster (approx size A1). Genesis - Best Of - 2xLP - Buddah/Charisma BDS 5659 - USA - 1971-72/1976 - foc co EX/EX - €9 USA repackaging of "Nursery Crime" (1971) and "Foxtrot" (1972) in unique foldout cover. Furey> Lewis Furey - The Sky Is Falling - LP - Saravah/RCA - RSL 1075 - France - 1979 - foc EX-/EX - €9 Genesis - Live - DVD - Falcon FNM 0284 - Germany - 1973-74/200? - M/M - €10 This bootleg collects material from the 73-74 tours, i.e. Genesis at their peak! Mastered from video, 4:3 aspect ratio, and varying in quality, but an essential artefact. In 3 parts: live at Shepperton Studios UK 30.10.73 (outstanding), "Midnight Special" US TV 20.12.73 (good/average video quality) and University Sports Arena, Montreal 20.04.74 (AKA "The Black Show" because of the dark quality of the image; also some audio and video is missing). As with the ELP DVD this is Region free and recorded in mono. Gladstone - Lookin' For A Smile - LP - ABC Records ABCX-778 - USA - 1973 - css/dh/rw/sss/stoc/stobc VG+/EX - €10 Looks better than all the collector syntax suggests (see pic). With the uncommon childrens blocks ABC label. Texan rock/southern rock/acoustic/country rock. Goddo - An Act of Goddo - LP - Polydor 2424 189 - Canada - 1979 - co EX/EX - €10 Gong - Expresso II - LP - Virgin 25856XOT - Holland - 1978 - w/inner EX/EX - €10 Gong - Time is the Key - LP - Arista AB 4255 - USA - 1979 - cc EX/EX - SOLD(€9) Goons - Best of the Goons - LP - Parlophone PMC 1108 - UK - 1959 - EX/VG - €9 comedy record Grand Funk Railroad - E Plurinus Funk - LP - Crash R209 - USA - 1971 - EX/EX - €10 As far as I can tell, this is one of those infamous counterfeits pressed by the mafia in the early 70s. It's an illegal, pirate edition of the band's E Pluribus Funk LP. A rare curio. Grateful Dead - T-shirt - new - €10 This is a brand new, never worn t-shirt I received as a present a couple of years ago from someone who didn't realise I wouldn't be seen dead (no pun intended!) wearing such a thing. But perhaps you have no such qualms? It's an extremely high quality screened shirt from Liquid Blue. The design is called "Classic". It retails for $27.95, so I'm selling it for less than half price. If you buy all the Grateful Dead records on this page, you get this for free! You can view the shirt at the Liquid Blue website. 100% Cotton. Size: L (USA) Grateful Dead> Mickey Hart - Rolling Thunder - LP - Grateful Dead/Line GDLP 4.00647 - Germany - 1972/1989 - white vinyl w/inner M/M- - €10 limited white vinyl issue of first solo LP, with Bob Weir, Jerry Garcia, and Phil Lesh Groot> Boudewijn de Groot - Dubbel Twee - 2xLP - Decca 6677 200 - NL - 1976 - foc EX/VG++ - €5 Collects material from 1968-1970; in dutch Decca's "Dubble Twee" series; discs have some hairlines and are crackily in places but these are excellent pressings and they play mostly ex Harrop> Cathie Harrop - Cathie Harrop's Ireland - LP - Emerald Gem - GES 1075 - UK - 1972 - spotting - VG+/EX - €5 Head East - s/t - LP - A&M AMLH 64680 - UK - 1978 - EX-/EX - €5 Head East were a US mid-western band who fell between several stools. There are elements of rock, prog, heavy, pomp, etc in their music, but no single direction. This (their 4th LP) and the double live album (1979) are the closest they got to making record that really rocked. The double live is undoubtedly the "must own" album, but if you want to add a studio LP, this is the one. Hollies - Greatest Hits Vol.2 - LP - Parlophone PCS 7148 - UK - 1963-71/1972) EX/VG+ - €8 Second volume of Greatest Hits. Disc has hairlines but plays fine. You just can't beat these old Parlophone/EMI pressings. Holly> Buddy Holly - Greatest Hits Vol.1 - LP - Coral MP8 - UK - 196? - mono EX/EX - €10 Holly> Buddy Holly - Greatest Hits Vol.2 - LP - Coral CPS 47 - UK - 1968/1970 - stereo EX/EX - €10 Humblebums> Billy Connolly - A Big Yin - 2xLP - Cambra CR133 - UK - 1984 - ex-/EX/EX- - €6 A strange double-lp package. Half of this consists of Billy Connolly's comedy pieces but before his career as a comedian Connolly was a folk musician, and the other half of this set consists of recordings by late 60s Glasgow folk band the Humblebums: Billy Connolly, Gerry Rafferty & Tam Harvey. Humphries> Les Humphries Singers - Rock My Soul - LP - Decca Royal Sound - SLK 16650-P - Germany - 1970 - EX/EX - €9.99 James> Tommy James & The Shondells - Cellophane Symphony - LP - Roulette/Major Minor - SRLP3 - UK - 1969 - co VG/G+ - €4.99 A rough but playable copy of this album; if this was a US copy I'd have binned it, but this is the not often seen UK Major Minor press. Different song order to the UK release but unfortunately neither issue puts all the good stuff on one side. Kraan - Wiederhoren - LP - Harvest 064-32 110 - Germany - 1977 - EX-/EX - SOLD(€10) Last> James Last - Rock Around With Me! - LP - Polydor - 249 250 - Germany - 1968 - original - EX/EX - €5 Lightfoot> Gordon Lightfoot - Summertime Dream - LP - Reprise REP 54067 - Germany - 1976 - w/inner EX/EX - €4 One of this finest albums from his most fruitful period. McWilliams> David McWilliams - With Love From... David McWilliams Vol.2 - LP - Capri CA 15-H - Holland - 1968/1972 - EX/EX - €10 Monty Python - Monty Python's Previous Record - LP - Charisma CHC 80 - UK - 1972 - EX/EX - €9 Moody Blues - The Lost Performance: Live in Paris 1970 DVD (Inspire Music 500711 - NL - 1970/2004) new - €5 The famous Bataclan concert from French TV, 1970. What no-one tells you is only the vocals are live... So it's the Moody Blues singing over backing tapes. There isn't much live video of prime Moodys alas. Brand new copy, region 2 DVD. Murray> Sunny Murray - An Even Break (Never Give A Sucker) - LP - Affinity AFF 30 - UK - 1979 - EX/VG+ - €5 New Trolls - s/t - LP - Warner Bros 56761 - Italy - 1979 - gimmick foldout sleeve EX/EX - €10 New York Rock Ensemble - Roll Over - LP - CBS 64126 - Holland - 1970 - original orange label EX/EX - €10 4th LP, previously known as New York Rock & Roll Ensemble. The cover features fantastic devil-heads artwork, pre-dating Venom by 12 years. While I can't say for sure if these guys were In League With Satan aswell, I certainly hope they were. Nice> The Nice - Autumn Spring - LP - Charisma - CAS 1 - USA - 1967-68/1973 - rw co - EX(-)/EX - €10 Nice cheaper issue of the debut album (well, most of it) plus a non-LP single (both sides) and a previously unreleased version of a track that turned up on the 2nd LP. The Nice really haven't had their due over the years. Octopus - Tonight - LP - Gnome Special GSP 17008 GL - NL - 1981 - EX/EX - €10 Obscure melodic (hard) rock... Octopus recorded some dreadful close harmony pop records in the style of BZN in the mid-70s, mostly covers of standards and ballads from the pre-rock era (many are collected on the "Oldies But Goldies" LP from 1977). This was a later incarnation of the band pursuing a poppy hard rock direction. It's about as bad as you can imagine. Oldfield> Mike Oldfield - Ommadawn - LP - Virgin 27493XOT (V2043) NL 1975 - +inner M-/M- - €9 With Clodagh Simmonds of Mellow Candle. Olympic - Kanagom - LP - Supraphon 1113 3838 - Czech - 1985 - edgewear EX/EX - €8 Mediocre punky hard rock from Czechoslovakia with great glue-sniffing cover! Osmonds- Homemade - LP - MGM/Polydor - 2315 050 - Germany - 1971 - EX/EX - €9,99 second album (discounting the mid-60s LP), still apeing the Jackson 5 and Motown, but some interesting moves. Of course, by the time you're finding value in an Osmonds LP, you've travelled down a very long road Osmonds - The Plan - LP - Kolob/MGM/Polydor - 2315 251 - UK - 1973 - bklt foc rw EX-/EX- - €5 Osmonds - The Plan - LP - Kolob/MGM Records 2315 251 - NL - 1973 - inner VG/VG - €1 Interested in finding out what God has planned for you? Look no further, it's all here! Some people have the audacity to describe this as "hard rock" in parts and mention Zeppelin influences... such people have done one too many bong hits. Paris - s/t - LP - Capitol ST-11464 - USA - 1976 - co (punch-hole) w/inner, tatty VG+/EX - NOT FOR SALE w/Bob Welch, ex Fleetwood Mac. Much better than I rememberd it, I've deciced to keep this until an upgrade copy comes along. Parks> Michael Parks - Lost And Found - LP - Verve - V6-5079 - USA - 1970 - coh EX/EX - €9,99 Folk/country introspectiveness but with some unexpected jazz influenced arrangements. Nice backing band with guitar, organ, dobro, drums, etc. Not a great singer IMO. Parton> Des Parton - Snaps - Buk/BASF - 17 22535-3 - Germany - 1975 - insert EX/EX - €9,99 Mid-70s singer-songwriter who wrote "Sad Sweet Dreamer". AFAIK this was his only LP, recorded for BUK (UK) but licensed to BASF and only pressed in Germany. Patterson> Brenda Patterson - Like Good Wine - LP - DiscReet - DS-2211 - USA - 1973 - VG+/EX - €9 photographed under strong flourescent light, so the ringwear looks worse than it is; odd soul/funk/country LP on Zappa's Discreet label, and Brenda's 3rd LP I believe Patto> Ramoncin - Best Of - LP - Hispavox - Spain - 1984 - insert, wrong cover EX/EX - €5 Note: this is housed in the wrong cover ("Ramon Cinco" from 1984) it's actually a best of covering 1980-84. The 83-84 stuff is crappy sub Lou Reed rubbish, but the earlier material (about half the album) includes tracks written with Ollie Halsall of Timebox/Patto/Tempest fame and is well worth hearing for this reason. Note this is nothing from the 'punk' LP "Ramoncin y WC" from 1979. The next Ugly Things (#31) will cover Halsall's years in Spain, and I expect that will explain these recordings more [it didn't!]. Peddlers - Greatest Hits (dutch issue of 'Freewheelers') - LP - CBS - 28204 - NL - 1967/1981? - sunburst label no cover! My only complaint would be that Patrick Moraz is not interviewed or given enough credit (Relayer is THEE under-rated Yes album IMO). An absolute must for die-hard fans, I'm only selling this because I have it on DVD now. Highly recommended. Zzebra - Panic - LP - Polydor 2383 326 - UK - 1975 - EX/VG- - €7 Very excellent jazzrock elpee, not mindblowing but a superior example of the genre and the kind of thing I really like myself. Not too well known either so it's still cheap if you can find it. Notable presence of Tommy Eyre. This looked like a nice minty copy until I noticed a weird zigzag mark at the start of size 2 dammit! It only affects the end of B1 and start of B2 but even so it makes clicks and a couple of skips -- so I've priced this way down. v/a - Hair (London Cast) - LP - Polydor Records 184 186 - Germany - 1968 - foc, sticker shadow EX/EX- - €10 Same as UK issue. v/a - Hollandse PopGroepen - LP - Discofon 6957084 - Holland - 1970 - EX/EX - €10 collects 1969-70 singles by dutch rock bands on Imperial (dutch EMI) incl.Brainbox Quicksand, Jonesy, Gravytrain, etc. v/a - Island People - LP - Island/Ariola - 86 757 XAT - NL - 1973 - stickered fc; pink rim EX/EX - €9.99 v/a - Zestien Sappige Zomersongs - LP - Omega OM 222.002-H - NL - 1972 - EX(-)/EX - €9.99 Grab bag Dureco/Pink Elephant related collection containing an elusive (and excellent) Serpentine track.

I'm pretty sure this is a US press though it has the Plexus logo on one label (Plexus was a dutch new wave label...) The cover has a dutch import sticker. So I dunno... I've seen other Plexus releases as US pressings so it's not unique in that regard. In fact Plexus still exists as a record shop in Delft where you can still buy unsold stock . . . but not this one.
